About

Comfort, safety and careful dentistry

Welcome to Sri Shankara Dental Clinic. Patient comfort, clinical safety and quality dental care are what we organise the practice around — not as a slogan, but as the things that decide how appointments are scheduled, how treatment rooms are prepared, and how much time is spent explaining a diagnosis before anyone picks up an instrument.

Most people arrive at a dental clinic somewhere between mildly reluctant and genuinely anxious. We take that seriously. You will be told what is wrong, what the options are, what each one involves and what each one costs, before treatment starts. If a tooth can be watched rather than treated, we will say so. If something needs doing now to avoid a bigger problem later, we will explain why rather than simply booking you in.

The clinic serves families across Tapovan Enclave and the wider Dehradun area, providing everyday preventive care alongside restorative, surgical and orthodontic treatment.

Our facilities

A modern, well-equipped clinic

Purpose-built treatment rooms with contemporary dental units, so routine and complex work can both be carried out on site without referring you elsewhere for the everyday things.

Sterilisation and infection control

Instruments are cleaned, packed and autoclaved between every patient, with single-use items where single-use is appropriate. Surfaces are disinfected between appointments. This is the part of a clinic patients never see and should never have to think about.

Digital diagnostics

Digital imaging gives clearer detail at a lower radiation dose than film, and the images are on screen immediately — which means you can see what we are seeing while the treatment options are being explained.

An unhurried approach

Appointments are scheduled with enough time to explain what is happening before it happens. If you are anxious about dental treatment, say so when you book and we will plan the visit around it.

Care for children and adults

Families are treated across generations, from a child's first check-up through to restorative work later in life. Children's appointments are kept short and positive, because an early good experience shapes how someone feels about dentistry for decades.

Services available

Each treatment has its own page explaining what is involved, what recovery is like, and what the alternatives are.

The team

Dr. Advaitha Anand

BDS, MDS (Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics) · Principal Dentist

Dr. Advaitha Anand graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Karnataka in 2011, and went on to complete a Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics in 2023.

Conservative dentistry and endodontics is the branch concerned with saving teeth rather than replacing them — diagnosing what has gone wrong inside a tooth, treating decay and infection at the root, and restoring what remains so the natural tooth can stay in place and keep working. Root canal treatment sits at the centre of it, along with the restorative work that follows.

With over fifteen years of clinical experience, Dr. Anand practises with a preference for conserving natural tooth structure wherever it is sound enough to keep. Extraction is considered when a tooth genuinely cannot be saved, not as a shortcut, and the reasoning behind either recommendation is set out before treatment begins.

Her approach is evidence-based: treatment decisions follow what the clinical research supports, and patients are told what the options are, what each involves, and what the trade-offs are — so the decision is an informed one.

Your first visit

A first appointment is mostly examination and conversation. We look at your teeth, gums and the soft tissues of the mouth, take images if there is a reason to, and go through what we find. You will leave knowing what — if anything — needs attention, in what order, and roughly what it will cost.

Bring a list of any medicines you take and any medical conditions you are being treated for. Both can affect dental treatment, and knowing about them in advance changes what we recommend.
